Stats:

  • Nick-Name: Adonna
  • Hometown: I grew up Raleigh, NC, and lived 14 years in Clayton, NC before moving to coastal NC.
  • Years Living In Wilmington: My husband, two daughters, and I have lived for 14 years in the Olde Point community of Hampstead.
  • What Brought You To ILM? In 2003, my husband was offered employment in this area, so we gladly accepted the position as living coastal NC was on our bucket list.

Favorite Spots In Wilmington:

  • Walking Topsail Island beaches searching for shark teeth and shells
  • Kayaking, fishing, and photographing local tidal creeks and inter-coastal waterways
  • Dining at the many unique, independently owned restaurants - These are all some of the best reasons we love living here and are our favorite SPOTS to share with family and friends. The people aren't bad either! Over the years living coastal North Carolina, we have made a family of friends with wonderful "locals" who have migrated here from all areas of the world.

Local Spot Tourists Don't Know About ...

Lea Island is an uninhabited SPOT between Topsail Island and Figure Eight Island special to many local boaters and their families for its shelling, quiet nature preservation and as a gathering SPOT for fellowship with like-minded neighbors.

Unexpected Facts:

  • When I was 21 years old, I contracted my own home to be built in Clayton, NC.
  • I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from NCSU in Horticulture Science to go with my business background.
  • I owned The Cultivator, a landscaping installation and greenhouse operation, while living in Clayton, NC, and, most recently, I owned a gift shop in Surf City.

Why Do You Love Real Estate?

Building, buying, selling and owning are empowering experiences, especially as a woman.  I want to bring the American Dream of ownership to others, whether guiding buyers to the perfect home SPOT or helping them find the perfect commercial SPOT for their business.

Most Unique Thing You've Seen In Real Estate:

My family vacationed on Topsail Island from the time I was three years old through high school and college. During my adolescent years there was a cottage in North Topsail shaped and made of materials forming it to look like an igloo. As kids, we would always remember where our rental was on the beach by how many houses away from the igloo house we were. I believe hurricane Fran took out that iconic SPOT.
