Stats:

  • Nick-Name: Angie Marie or Air Force Angie
  • Hometown: Lincoln, Nebraska
  • Years Living In Wilmington: 9
  • What Brought You To ILM? I got orders to Wilmington to be the local Air Force Recruiter. We had never heard of Wilmington before but we fell in love when we got here and decided to make it our "forever home."

Favorite Spots In Wilmington:

  • The Little Dipper is this quaint little fondue restaurant in Historic Downtown Wilmington. The jelly fish tank adds a twist to the already unique atmosphere. You must try the "cheddar ale" fondue and "dark chocolate turtle" with classic dippers for dessert. Your taste buds will thank you!
  • Dig & Dive is one of my favorite spots to play sand volleyball. They serve up good food, drinks and fun. For those of you who like a little competition this is the place to get your game on!
  • We found Lifepoint Church when we moved to Wilmington. We have met so many wonderful people and made lifelong friendships there.

Local Spot Tourists Don't Know About ...

Freeman Park or "The North End" of Carolina Beach. If you have a four-wheel drive vehicle you can buy a pass to drive on the beach and spend the day. Locals who frequent Freeman Park more often buy an annual pass for year round fun. Enjoy a bonfire at night or even camp on the beach if you want. My family loves to take our truck and load up the kids and dogs...talk about a good time! My absolute favorite thing to do is ride my horses on The North End. Horse riding is allowed on the Freeman Park beach between October 1st and March 31st each year.

Unexpected Facts:

  • I served for 8 years in the United States Air Force.
  • I used to sing in a gospel music group that made a few CDs/albums and even had the honor of singing for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s wife, Coretta Scott King.
  • My family lives on a mini farm in the city. We have horses, mini pigs, chickens, pygmy goats, rabbits, and dogs.

Why Do You Love Real Estate?

Being prior military, I know how difficult moving can be. I wanted to be able to help people through one of the most stressful times in their lives. Being a "people pleaser" and also very competitive, Real Estate is a profession that allows me to use both of these traits on a daily basis. Most people don't understand how many intricate and moving parts go on behind the scenes of every real estate deal. As a Realtor it is my job to handle anything and everything that gets thrown at me and make it to the closing table. I fight hard to get my clients the best deal possible and make sure they win! I love how happy they are when I've gotten them to the finish line and they can move on to their next spot in life.

Most Unique Thing You've Seen In Real Estate:

I have seen many unique and crazy things happen in this business.  One of my favorite stories was from a couple who needed to move back to Pennsylvania quickly. Their home had been listed for two years with two other Realtors. The husband challenged me to sell his house for him in a week. The day I listed his home I called some colleagues to tell them all about it. One of them happened to have a buyer who was a perfect match for this home. They went to see it and wrote an offer right away. His house was under contract in 6 hours! Needless to say the sellers were very pleased. Any agent can put your home in the MLS. Find someone who will go the extra mile and give you that personal touch.
