  • Nick-Name: Gin
  • Hometown: Kankakee, IL (heard of it?)
  • Years Living In Wilmington: 27-29
  • What Brought You To ILM? My family thought it was a good idea to move me in the middle of my Senior year. I went back to Texas after graduation but resettled here with my husband 27 years ago.

Favorite Spots In Wilmington:

  • Hugh McRae Park is a beautifully preserved iconic Wilmington location with great walking trails, humongous pine trees, and the ideal backdrop for local events.
  • Flamin' Amy's Bowl is a reliably hot and delicious meal with endless combinations and offers a unique variety of homemade sauces.
  • The Riverwalk downtown provides a beautiful backdrop for a leisurely stroll, day or night.

Local Spot Tourists Don't Know About ...

I enjoy the walking trails at Poplar Grove, as well as, visiting the rescued animals there. It's a peaceful and beautiful stroll, ideal for decluttering my mind.

Unexpected Facts:

  • I went skydiving with my 70-year-old mother.
  • I worked the graveyard shift at a psychiatric hospital many (full) moons ago.
  • Up until about 3 years ago, my family went to Disney World every year since 1994.

Why Do You Love Real Estate?

It is gratifying to help others realize their dream of homeownership. I have met some really interesting (and great) people on this adventure.

Most Unique Thing You've Seen In Real Estate:

I arrived ahead of the buyers (thankfully) and did a quick walk through an empty home (really nice home) and saw something black on the floor of the dining room overlooking the swimming pool. It was a pair of lady's underwear. Without thinking, I grabbed them (eww) and threw them under the kitchen sink before the buyers showed up. I later contacted the agent to let her know where they were stashed in case someone was missing them.
