Social Worker turned real estate lover

  • Hometown: Kingston, Jamaica / Engield, CT
  • Years Living In Wilmington: 4
  • What Brought You To ILM? Warm weather, southern comfort.
After living in cold weather for many years, I started to dream about escaping to someplace warm. My husband and I visited Wilmington and fell in love with the sunshine and beaches. We also liked that Wilmington, although a coastal town with vacation vibes, had a little of everything to offer. As soon as we got back to Connecticut we started looking for property in Wilmington and within the next two years we made this beautiful city our home.

Favorite Spots In Wilmington:

  • Airlie Gardens - breathtaking flora
  • Horse-drawn Carriage tour of downtown Wilmington - beautiful historic homes and buildings
  • Rooster & The Crow - best southern cuisine

Local Spot Tourists Don't Know About ...

Indochine Restaurant - the lotus pond and Thai huts behind the restaurant, in the middle of the city makes this a hidden gem.

Unexpected Facts:

  • My first job was at age 13. I read the local newspaper to a blind gentleman. I earned $8 per week
  • As an eight year old, I was an entrant in the local spelling bee contest. I got booted when I spelled the word "biscuit" incorrectly
  • I have never had a cup of coffee. I do not know what it taste like.

Why Do You Love Real Estate?

I have always been intrigued with houses. I love different architectural styles and enjoy leisure drives and walks through neighborhoods looking at houses. When I travel to other countries, I always try to visit local neighborhoods to feel the soul of the area. I often wonder what life experiences cause people to choose where they live.
During my career as a social worker, I have seen how overwhelmed families become when they have to relocate themselves or their loved ones due to debilitating illnesses or circumstances.
I would like to help families navigate through the emotions and logistics that often make the transition an unwelcome experience. I want families to still be able to feel that hope when moving to a new location. A new beginning does not have to be a sad beginning. Everyone deserves to live in their right SPOT.
I am here to listen, offer expert advice and give that extra hug.

Most Unique Thing You've Seen In Real Estate:

The taxidermy room. One bedroom in the house dedicated to approximately 20 animal heads.
