  • Nick-Name: Stefi & StefWithAnF / Chaunce & Chompy
  • Hometown: Port St. Lucie, FL / Warren, ME
  • Years Living In Wilmington: 16
  • What Brought You To ILM? With our diplomas in hand from Elon University, we moved to Wilmington and got married! After being landlocked in inland NC for several years, it was important for both of us to get closer to the water!

Favorite Spots In Wilmington:

  • Nikki's Sushi - This is a local gem. We love their fresh, creative sushi combinations. Check out their Black Knight, Fancy Tuna or Beach Bum rolls. Delish!
  • Masonboro Island - This is an intracoastal playground! We love taking our boat out with friends and family and soaking up the rays on this beautiful nature preserve.
  • The Basics - Gourmet soulfood in historic downtown! Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner - this place is LEGIT, you'll enjoy your meal whatever time of day you go. (Tip: try their mac & cheese!)

Local Spot Tourists Don't Know About ...

Palm Tree Island! Just beyond the Wrightsville bridge and the start of Lees Cut in the waterway, lies a tidal "island" complete with a large fake palm tree. As the tide recedes the sand appears and the party begins! You'll see boats drop anchor, dogs will run around and play, and people will mingle and hang out until the tide says it's time to go.

Unexpected Facts:

  • We are high school sweethearts! We've been together 20 years and married 15 - and we actually still like each other ;)
  • We started our first company, sticky IT, when we just 23 and sold it at 31. On to empire no. 2 with Spot!
  • Stef: I geek out for anything Halloween. I'm also a sucker for steel drums!!
  • Chauncey: I grew up in West Africa for most of my childhood - it's always a funny factoid and people always think it's crazy.

Why Do You Love Real Estate?

  • Stef: We get to make a real impact on people's live by helping them find their dream home. As an agent, I feel like I'm on the hunt with my clients. I'm searching and digging to help find them exactly what they want. It's a lot of fun! Some of our best friends came by way of real estate - former clients turned friends. You just get to know people on such a deep level while searching together to find the perfect spot. It's a very rewarding career on a lot of levels.
  • Chauncey: I've always been attracted to sales and competition; the real estate industry really embodies so much of the "human" element that makes both of those things very alive and fresh.  Every deal is a little different and they all require a variety of approaches and techniques.  I love helping clients "go in for the win," weather that's in a multiple-offer situation, or in getting a property sold for a price that exceeded their expectations.

Most Unique Thing You've Seen In Real Estate:

  • Stef: I have seen a lot of doozies out on tours. From toilets installed inside hall closets to half-naked people sleeping inside a vacant listing - there's no shortage of laughs.
  • Chauncey: ususally the most memorable things for me are the very "home-brew" inventions that you'll see homeowners hack together during their ownership of the property.  Some of them are really specific and down-right odd.  We came across a property that was a piling home near the beach with a door to what seemed like the back deck.  We were surprised when we opened the door to find that it was just a door to nowhere with a 15-foot drop!  Things like that just make you say "what was the story behind this?!"
