Wilmington NC is the perfect blend of southern history, sandy beaches and friendly faces. Our peninsula city stretches from the banks of the Cape Fear River out to our barrier island beaches - Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach and Kure Beach - and everything in between (Midtown).

On the west, we have our historic downtown and mile-long riverwalk seated along the banks of the Cape Fear River. USA Today voted Wilmington “America’s Best Riverfront” in 2014 for good reason. Antebellum mansions on cobblestone streets collide with a vibrant city scene filled with shops, fine dining, hip breweries and nightlife. Live music, street festivals, theatre and art galleries enhance the downtown scene.

On the east side, you have your choice of salt & sand on any of our 3 beaches - Wrightsville, Carolina & Kure - each one with it’s own spirit and vibe. You can soak up some rays, explore our piers and boardwalks or get out on the water and play like a local. From boating, paddle-boarding and kayaking - we love the water here and it shows! If you happen to explore our intracoastal waterway, you can also visit our 4th beach - Masonboro Island - an undeveloped nature preserve that is only accessible via boat.

In between, you’ll find the fastest growing area of our great city - Midtown. This area has burgeoning commercial growth, new residential development and just about everything you can ever want to do, eat, or shop! On the outer edges of midtown you will find the campus of UNCW - adding energy and spirit to our unique city.
